History

Golf BuggyLake Albert Golf Club was formed in 1968 when a nine hole course was designed with black sand scrapes.

During 1979 the members elected to transform the course into an 18 hole course which was designed by local Bow Jude and Dave Cleland. The new 18 hole course was first played on in 1981 – and is still the course we play today.

The 12th and 18th greens were completed in 1987 after members volunteered their time to lay the irrigation pipes to the whole course in 1986.

Progression continued with seven more greens developed in 1988 and in August 1991 the members decided to develop the 6 remaining greens and these were first played on in 1992.

Today we have one of the best rural golf courses in South Australia with a fully licensed air-conditioned clubhouse available to all golfers.

Many thousands of trees were planted lining the fairways which makes Lake Albert a very picturesque and interesting course to play.
